Hey fellas,
so i need to sort out my .222 a bit better, use it for what it is..

currently got a good supply of 55gr Z max and had loaded ADIs 2207 with min charge for accuracy around 2700fps..... pretty mild for a 222.

other powder available is AR2206H and looks like AR2208/Varget would also work for decent figures.

which of those would you try next to gain maybe a lower chamber pressure for higher velocity ? i seem to recall 2207 was pressuring up an seemed erratic so i settled on the lower charge.. ?

06h is next , then 08 in burn rate

i want to flatten trajectory for fox spotlighting, an its mostly in my head lights so the flatter the better, sometimes they are 100m sometimes i rekon 200 or so, im thinking a 150m zero will sort most of them out with head shots / between the glowin eyes..

shot and loaded lots of 222, best things happened with Reloder 7 and H 322, i am not familliar with these other AR powders, well varget yes, but I never tried it in 222. Winchester 748 worked well for me, too.....FS

I loaded 24gr of Win 748/55gr Hornady SP for my dad's .222 for Ontario deer .He managed to shoot about a dozen before retiring from hunting along with 3 problem black bears. One shot per customer.

Thanks for that info, ive never seen 2219 quoted for data! That powder goes outside the norm for ADI, its burn rate is between 2207 and actually right between bench mark 1 and bench mark 2.... so that makes sense an proberly not a bad option. i do not have that thogh.

not much room to play with the varget or 06h powder tho is there, its either mild or hot very quick.... that would be where 0.03 grain charges come into it !

Thanks for posting that

Rhys, I have been playing with 222 Remingtons for decades now.
ADI 2207 is great for pills up to about 52 grains.
Above that a slightly slower number seems to work better.
I have used a lot of W748 with the 55 grain bullets, so I'm
thinking that ADI 2206 should work as well. Another candidate
would be ADI 2219 [H322] if you could source it. Dave.
