Hi, Bed. Your rifle wasn't made by Remington in .222 Rem Mag. First chambered in .222 Rem in 1959 and discontinued altogether in 1961. If your's is in .222 Rem Mag, it's a custom built rifle. The chambering will reduce its value somewhat due to the relative scarcity of ammo. Not impossible to find though.
Hard to put a value on any rifle without some indication of its condition. Especially a commercial hunting rifle that is that elderly. Little or no collector value either.
 
The .222 Magnum cartridge has the best features of both the .222 and the .223; having more capacity than the .222 and a longer neck than the .223. Its a mystery to me why it fell by the wayside. While a fixed 4X has its place, it wouldn't be my first choice on a .22 centerfire.

The Remington 722 was chambered for the .222 Mag, ('58-'62) but not the 725.
