My Dad just gave me his .222Rem, so I went to Wholesale to get supplies for rolling some rounds. I had in mind a couple of powders I would want to try, but they were out of those. Since I don't have the reloading manual memorized, I was unsure which powder I should get. I saw they had Li'l Gun powder, and I knew it was listed for use in the .22 Hornet, so I got a pound. Now that I'm home I can find nowhere that lists Li'l Gun powder for the .222Rem. Do any of you know a recipe that uses Li'l Gun for the .222Rem?
Thanks

It's too fast burning for the .222 although may work for reduced loads, I found this powder to be very touchy when you got near max.

H335 seems to be popular from asking around and online forums.

...or WC 735 less two grains as 20 bucks a pound at Higginsons. I've loaded thousands of rounds od 222 Rem. Most accurate in MY rifle is 20.5/IMR4198 pushing a 50 grain Sierra Blitz. Also if you don't know what your doing then before running out and getting componets I would reccommend getting a manual first. Never use any data someone gives you on the net or anywhere else before cross checking with a loading manual aswell:)

Well there was your first mistake, going to WSS. Shoulda gone to P&D.

That'll learn ya.

While LilGun is great in the shortened 222,..AKA 221 Fireball,..(I run a max load of 15.5grs under a 40gr bullet in my 221)....it's probably too fast in the 222 for anything heavier than a 40...and the loads would be pretty much reduced loads...

search out real data before you start dropping powder...and,

..ya should have gone to P&D.....

When the 222 first came out, the powder considered just right, was IMR 4198. I don't think much has changed.

Or a .410 shotgun ,it works nice in that too perhaps sell it someone with a large pistol...................Harold
