Hello all.

Has anyone had any luck loading the Dominion Arms D4198 powder with cast bullets? I'll be casting the lee 55gr bullet and powder coating it, and the lee 155gr 2r bullet and powder coated as well. Rifles used will be an AR15 and a tuned Norinco M14. I read through the cast bullets in .308 on the castboolits site and saw that it'll work, I'd just like to hear of some other folks getting results before I make a decision on powder. I would ideally like D4064 or D4895 if it ever comes, but D4198 seems to be the most available.

Thanks in advance!

For my M1 Garand have used both IMR 4895 and H4895. Seemed to the most common. It is surprising how low one can go and still get the action to cycle. Cheap load to boot.

I'm hoping Canada Ammo gets the house brand 4895 in, as I use imr4895 currently with awesome results. I'm just looking to load as cheaply as possible, hence the cast and the powders I'm looking at being 129.99/5lbs vs imr4895 being around 50.00/1lb

I use 17.5 grains of 4198 with the lee 55 grain cast bullet.it will in my ar with no problem. Groups not the greatest but I use it practice under 25 m.

Perfect. I'll probably only be shooting at the 25 yard line anyway. This rifle only has irons and my eyes are crap.
I'm hoping as long as I can get it to cycle that I can play with the seating depth if I need to dial accuracy in.
