.223 40gr VS 1:9 TWIST

has anyone successfully used 40 grain bullets with a 1 in 9 twist. i want to shoot light bullets but most 223's have fast twists. also what can you tell me about the savage model 25? is it good? is it as good as other savage rifles?

I bought some Win white box 40gr HP to try when I first got my CZ Kevlar (9" twist) and couldnt group under 2". My reloads I have got everything from 50gr NBT to 69 SMK's to shoot great but nothing heavier.

40 grain should be fine. THE Difference in the savage 25 is that it is basically their rimfire action. Should be fine for shooting and hunting. If your intent is to swap a custom barrel on this action I do not think that that will work.
