I posted awhile back, didn't get to many comments.
Anyway I'm looking for a bolt action that will shoot cheap norinco ammo and when the time comes, shoot reloads with better ammo. I have good glass (Sightron S3) just need a mid range gun. I'm looking to spend more than an Axis but not go over $1500 including any upgrades like a 20+moa base.

I have read good things about 700 sps and tikka t3. There is always buying used and upgrading but most guns on EE are listed for almost new prices.
What would you guys recommend?

Well you won't go wrong with the 700 or the T3. I've owned both. Own only the T3 now. Much more options for the 700. Both shoot great. I prefer the ultra smooth action of the T3.

Cz 527 I think is the number, very very accurate rifle. Tikka t3 varmint shoots very well for around 1000 for another 700 you can get the tikka tac, phosphate finish, same barrel quality as the trg, but won't outshoot the tikka t3 varmint in most situations. Tac Will have a cold bore advantage, slight.

Here is the cz at prophet river http: //store.prophetriver.com/cz-527-223-rem-american-blk-blued/

Might want to check out the cooper he has. It will do what you want.

Any of the options noted should work for you.
Going the Savage route should also work.
I have a couple of them, rebarreled and bedded, in .223 and 6.5X47 that shoot as well as some of my much more expensive customs.....

I just got a Savage Hog Hunter in .223. Open sights, oversize bolt knob, accue trigger, threaded barrel for flash hider or noise quieter device (if we can ever get them in Canada). Light rifle and well built for the money. Mine was $479+tax. Good backup bolt gun for an AR owner. Only pisser is fixed internal magazine. No worries about buying $50-100 spare factory mags its always with gun
