Hi all. I have a savage BTVSS 223 (1 in 9 twist). I shoot 69 gr Sierra matchkings with great success (25.8 gr Varget). I see many posts/replys about the 75gr A-max's. I tried this bullet but didn't find accuracy worth bragging about. So fellow shooters post your 75 gr pet loads for me.

My rem700 PSS in 223 only success with is 69 sierra BTHP, I got a group that are about an Inchs at 300meter, but the 75grain amax was all over the place around 7inchs, I think the 1 in 9 rifles will success stabilize the 69grain max weight, but for the 75, 77 & 80, you would need something in 1 in 7 Like the Ar15 configuration...

The Savage will shoot the 80 Sierra withthe 1:9. I did the prototype testing for them. The trick was to load it fast. But it is borderline. It would shoot well (under a minute) in warm weather but not in cold air.

This testing was done before there was a 75 Amax. Have not tried that bullet in a 1:9. I am sure the 75 Match HP would work perfectly.

I got best velocity with Re15.

Did some 1000 yard shooting last summer and the Amax would not shoot tighter than 5/8 + " the Hornaday 75 gr HPBT Match i got to .390" and they worked at 1000 Lots of Varget. This loading was done in Rem Police 26" 1/9 twist
Sold the Police and bought Rem 700 XCR Longrange Tacticale in .223
1/9 twist here are a couple froups with Rl15 & Varget with sierra 69gr going to try the 75gr HPBT as the 69sierra will die at 700 yards app:acording to Remington tech I talked with
If weather is good going to Range to Chrono & test some more loads with different powders, I heard that the VT 540 is powder to get most FPS with the .223 Rem
