I figured that I found the lost brass mine in the wilderness! LOL
Found hundreds of .223 and 9mm at the range, so went thru the effort of picking it up and lo and behold it is mostly milspec heavy crimp primers....
I tried to decrimp and I do not think I can afford the primer pins it would take.
Is this stuff just junk brass by the pound or is there an easy way tore use it???

I'm a little confused by your post....most crimped in primers in my experience can be removed in a regular sizing die with a regular depriming pin. The pockets will likely need to be swaged before repriming, but that should be the extent of your difficulty

Steel cases? Berdan primed?

If that is what you have, find a recycler and get rid of it.

You will not break decapping pins with crimped in boxer primer cases. A quick twist with a Lyman primer pocket tool and you are ready to load reg. primers.

I use crimped in brass all the time. Works great.

I have also used some milspec brass but this 9mm stuff takes a he// of a push to get it thru the dies. Dunno maybe will try it maybe not. Thanks for the replies

A pic of the brass and headstamp might help. 9mm can be a little stiff to resize, but if your dies are clean and you lube the occassional case, things should go relatively smoothly

I found that the Lee .223 sizer decapped the military crimped brass without piercing the spent primers.
Probably because they are thicker in diameter. KD
