anybody own a .223 Ackley Improved? where did you get it reamed?
how's the accuracy before and after?
did this change make your rifle a better shooter?

I'm kind of bored of my .223 and I was wondering if going A.I. will spice up my rifle a little bit.

No change in accuracy, less brass stretching, slightly higher velocities, did it myself (on the one I have now). - dan

Whatever turns your crank, but the velocity increase is not very much. My 223 shoots the Sierra 80 gr at 3,000 fps.

My 22-250 shoots the same bullet at 3,200 fps.

i note the 22-250 is a much larger case than the 223AI, so don't see how velocity would go up very much.

I think the Ackley treatment makes more sense in a case that has a long tapered case, like the 6.5x55 or the 375 H&H.
