I shoot Norinco 223 and damn its loud. Yes I know its hotter the AE 223 and that AE isn't as loud. Is there anything else that is prerolled that is less loud?
I'm sure I could buy some handmade rounds that are sub sonic but I'd be paying through the nose for it.
That's why I like the Norinco. Hard to beat 28¢ a round.
AE is 42¢ a round.

Yeah, I was at the Shooting Centre and actually had staff come in and ask me what I was shooting it was so loud. Norinco 5.56: Loud and cheap!

Or how about being safe and letting Canadians protect their hearing and letting us use silencers. I'm willing to shell out for a tax stamp. However I do think that they don't need to be restricted. It's not like suppressors make the guns sound like cap guns. We can thank Hollywood for that one!!!!!

Try stuffing your bra and panties in your ears to reduce to noise, princess.

I joke, on some shorties, I find the report worse than any big bore, much sharper! Dlask makes xb-1 muzzle device that sends most of the noise downrange, where it won't bother anyone that should be there.

I have a hera arms comp, works well but having a semi auto, there will always be more noise than a bolt action. That I do have to live with. I do double up on hearing protection.
My Dad use to fly helis and planes up north with no earmuffs, he's now 80% def, I see how hard it is for him now so I'm trying to avoid that.

I'm with you, I like hearing. Eye protection, ears, and even recoil pads where suitable. Riding a bike with no helmet is cool until the wind is blowing through your hair and brains...

5.56 is loud enough that I wouldn't want to be shooting without ear protection for very long - if at all! I found the Steel Core LAP rounds to be the loudest of the bunch.
