I need to pickup another case of .223 ammo and I was curious what people would recommend?

So far I have found Winchester Whitebox and Remington UMC out there, I am curious which brand you would choose and why.

Also, is there any advantage in getting 62 grain bullets vs 55 grain bullets? I believe my barrels are 1 in 9.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Winchester makes the better brass, if handloading it after firing matters to you. 62 grain stuff is no more 'stable', and I doubt you'd see a difference in groups out up to 300-400m.

You'll have to try a box of the ammo you haven't used to see if your rifle will shoot it well enough. No point buying a case of any ammo if it doesn't shoot well in your rifle. Reloading makes this go away as you'll be tailoring the load to your rifle.

Yeah, each rifle has it's own like and dislikes. Really, the only way to tell is try-it-and-see.

Just becase one brand works well in someone else's rifle (even if it's the same model, sometimes) is not guarantee that it'll work well in yours.

Becasue of the faster twist in your rifle, I'd suspect the 62's will be better, but perhaps only marginally.

I shot 55 gr fmj out of my 700P and out of the win white box, south african, and the rem/umc the rem would shooot right around 3/4 ther others right around 1 inch + at 100 yards
