I am shopping around for a .223rem bolt action rifle.
I am a remington bolt action guy, but I have'nt found any remy models with barrel twists faster than 1-12".The stevens 200 has a 1-9" twist,I want the faster twist to shoot the heavier bullets.
Anybody either had great accuracy shooting the 60gr+bullets in slower twist barrels,or anybody know which remington .223 caliber has the faster twist barrel? thanks RB

thanks guys.I have a 2005 remy rifle catalogue and they don't mention anything but 1-12" twist.I figured they must have a faster twist on some of their models.RB

Rembo is right on this time! {Don't find him wrong very often} The Rem 700 PSS/Police is a 1-9" twist. For something faster in a factory tube you will have to buy a Tika tacticle 1-8" twist. I had "Guntech" build a 1-8" 223 for me and its a screamer with 80gr Sierras and 70gr. Bergers. The 1-8" twist is not supposed to be good for accuracy with the light weight 50gr bullets. Could have fooled me sub 1/2 MOA groups @ 3400fps+.

Yes the Remington 700pss and 700LTR are 1/9"

The 700pss being a 26" bull barrel 9Lbs and the LTR being 20" fluted at 7.5Lbs

The other bolts out there are all Tikka models 1/8" , All Savage and Stevens 1/9" and the CZ's 1/9"

Some semi autos that are non restricted are the Sig PE90 1/7" , H&K SL8/G36 1/7", and the Armalite AR180b 1/9"

Good info guys,
thanks for the link Tod,I see wholesale has both the "police" and the LTR in their catalogue. The tikka is also one I had'nt thought about, the T3s are generally very accurate.Time to start making decisions.RB
