currently loading for my 1 in 9 twist .223 and am using 69 sierra' WSR primers and 25 grains even of varget
load was a nice looker at 100
preforming so-so to o.k. at 300
looking to fine tune with jump\jam differences
looking at my supply of varget and availibity(last half pound and no good outlook on horizon)
looking for input on different powders that others are using (maybe even different weight of bullet)

I have used mostly RL15. 26 gr with 68 & 69 and and 25 gr with 75 and 80 gr HP bullets.

I have a number of 223 target rifles. One is best with N140, one with RL-15, the other with WW148 - all with the Sierra 80 at about 2900 fps (30" brls).

Never tried Varget in 223.

For a 69gn bullet you can get great loads with:
IMR 4895
RL-15
H335

I hear Higginsons is going to get Varget next month, but I have not found it to be an advantage for a 69gn bullet.

With my 77gn loads it is a better powder

Like Ganderite and others have mentioned Rl 15 , h335 h322 69gr Sierras and 75gr Bergers.with 1/9 twist.

but each gun is nit the same.
I have seen my brother shoot a custom 40x 28" Hart shoot Varget and 80gr sierra's a true .200" at 100 and .601 at 300 so don't throw away that Varget you have

thanks for your quick responses guys...rl15 seems to be scarce around here though

i have already picked up a pound of h335 and was thinking along those lines seeing that it is available

the benchmark is here too but having hard time tracking down more and do not want to risk finding THE super sweet load just to run out of powder

thank you for your suggestions and feel free to leave more
