With Brass seemingly the most costly component, how many reloads can one expect from new brass and is there a recommended product that holds up beter than the rest ?

This would be for bench rest rifle purposes out to 300 yards.
 
I've reloaded some norinco brass 6 times so far... If the case necks are going to split, they'll do that on the first or second firing. I annealed them, and they've been going good since... Cheap for reloading brass too...
 
I've loaded the same 100 winchester .223 13 times now. No sign of split necks or case head separation. I am neck sizing with Wilson hand dies, trimming when cases measure 1.756. The next time I reload these 100 cases, I will be tossing a few due to sloppy primer pockets. My loads are even a tad on the warm side.
 
yes but annealing 1600 cases, or you have too much time, or you are psycho, really.... after 20 I am sick of it.
 
Your brass life is governed by chamber pressure and how you size your cases, max loads and full length resizing with the press caming over is the hardest on the brass. Lower chamber pressures and only bumping the shoulder back .002 to .004 extends case life.

For practice in my AR15 I load 55 grain FMJ with 24.7 grains of H335, that is approximately 2800 fps, 44,000 psi from a 16 inch barrel and it is very easy on the brass.
 
I get 10+ form winchester brass full length resizing every time and trimming every time to 1.750". I am setting the shoulder back around .005" or less when sizing.

same, recently switched to Hornady brass for my bolt gun, 3-4 times reloaded now, I hope I don't regret the switch, the Winchester .223 brass was very good.
(the Winchester brass wasn't wore out when I retired it, still had lots of life in it)

semi auto brass reloaded unknown amount of times, some gets lost some gets added, never ending cycle, split necks and loose primer pockets get culled.
 
I bought 100 pieces of Nosler .223 brass 1600 rounds ago. All 100 are still in use with tight pockets. I neck size 4x, the fl. I've never annealed.
My rifle is throated for 90gr VLDs but I'm shooting 80 and 82gr bullets. Lower pressure??
