Heelo all, looking for some info for a first time .223 bulk purchase. I just picked up my first Mini 14 and havnt shot it yet. Most places are out of stock on the bulk ammo, but canadammo has some norinco. Does anyy body know how this stuff shoots? Thanks

I have no idea on accuracy, but I've run about 800 rounds of that same Norinco 5.56 this past week or so, all through my Classic Green, no popped primers, no fail to fire's, no problems of any kind. My Dad's XCR on the other hand wouldn't feed it as consistently, about one in 15-20 rounds would fail to fully feed, not the ammo's fault in any way, we proved that by me running 800 rounds without issue. But they OAL was quite a bit longer than say AE or Fiochi, so maybe that has something to do with it.

great ammo, and cheap, cant go wrong with it

i find it to be the same as American eagle black and i Have shot 1000's of each

I picked up a can of 1000 Federal AE 55gr .225 from Wolverine Supplies the other day. They fly through my Swiss Arms better than I can guide them. Highly recommend!

$399 for 1000. Runs about 0.39 per round, I think. The Norinco stuff is even cheaper. $499 for 1600. Can't attest to the quality, though, personally. Probably just fine.

you wont find anything cheaper then the norinco stuff from canada ammo, especially since its free shipping, also the quality is just as good as the american eagle stuff

sales are not likely, id get it before it becomes more expensive if anything

save your cases and reload at some point

The only way you are getting cheaper than Norinco is to load it. I think I am a little over $0.20 per round.

I've shot lots of both and accuracy as others have stated seems to be similar, AE slightly better in my hands and in my rifle anyways. .39 per round for the AE stuff is BEFORE taxes and shipping - last time I bought a bulk pack of AE it worked out to .42/round after shipping and taxes (I'm in Ontario). The Norinco works out to about .37/round iirc after taxes and free shipping. If the price was the same, I'd choose AE over Norinco. $5 per hundred isn't exactly a big savings so once I am through my Norinco I will likely just stick to the AE.

is that wolf ammo steel core as well as steel case ?

I've seen the wolf stuff before but never sure. I ask as I can't shoot steel core indoors.

edit: just saw a video on youtube, it's bi-metal, steel over lead.
