223 Dies

I'm going to ordering a Hornady LnL Classic kit soon and want to start to reload for my 700 SPS and AR180. Would there be different types of dies that would be better for one or the other.

for the SPS I would go with Redding deluxe set which includes the neck sizer. You might need a small base resizing die for the 180 if its got a tight chamber, I would try it with the standard FL die first.

for the SPS a neck sizing die would be all you need, but for the AR 180 a full length resizing die is what you should use. Semi autos are picky on the size of the round. If the ammo is going on a shelf and is to be used in either, get the full length sizing die. Just my two cents.

I've been keeping the brass seperate since I figure different bullets will probably be best.

Full Length for the 180 and just sizing the neck for the 700 could be more accurate?

IMHO, RCBS is all you need.

I full length resize my rifle stuff - doesn't do any harm.

Redding Competition dies for both.

The only ones I can find are Lee.

Samll base body dies for the 180. They and any semi can be picky. Redding makes some great stuff for anything accurate. Just my opinion.
