I have an LMT CQB MRP 16" AR. It eat's up light 55 grain ammo all day, (which my pocket book can attest to), with great accuracy. It's better than I am.

I called LMT one day just to see what ammo they suggest using. The gun tech told me that the heavier the bullet the better for accuracy with the 1:7 twist rifling. Because it is all Mill Spec it was designed to shoot rounds like the Mk 262 (77 grain mil round that boasts much better terminal ballistics especially through short barrels).

I'm keeping all my brass but I'm not set up to reload my own just yet. The only brand I can find that makes anything like this is 77 Gr. Sierra MatchKing from black hills.

My questions are, does anyone know where I can buy some and is it worth it? Or can you suggest a heavier bullet that I can get in 1000 round lots that wont get me divorced?

Thanks

Start loading bro, or take out a permit for Blackhills. That barrel will see you doing possibles at 500m with the Sierra 77 Match Kings, Varget, BR-4 primers and reasonable attention to handloading.

I've shot MOA back to 300m with my 1:7 16" AR and Lapua 69 grain ammo using a mag monopod rest and a 3X ACOG. It's not cheap but very accurate.
