223 in a 7.62x39 or 6.8 SPC Magazine?

Has anyone ever tried loading .223 rounds in a magazine designed for 7.62x39 or 6.8SPC?

I've heard that you can stuff 11 - 9mm rounds into a 40S&W glock mag, so I wonder if the same trick might work for my mini 14?

Yes. Doesn't work.

Feed lips are different shape and size and the last four or five rounds in the mag (the first four or five put in) will all come out at the same time.

If your trying to find a way to get more ammo in a mag go with LAR15 mags or Beowulf mags.

.223 won't work in either but 6.8 works nicely in a x39 mag. As stated stick with actual .223 mags or go with a .50 Beowulf. LAR15's are your best bet price wise.
