I've checked with a few of the shops that I know of and they have a box or two, picked up two boxes of Remington @ 18 a box, looking for some a little cheaper, for plinking and for coyotes.

CT and Wally mart were out or didn't carry it anymore, they weren't sure (Truro), next time I'm in Hfx I'll check out the army navy store.

Thanks

I used to buy the winchester white box 40 round value packs from walmart, those were an awesome deal and surprisingly accurate! Now the cheapest place to find .223 (that I know of) is the Army Navy store on Agricola St. in Halifax. They sell 55gr. soft point Prvi Partizan for $13 + tax if I remember correctly, I've been loading my own for a while now so it might have changed, I know they raised the price of 9mm by $1 over the last 6 months.

If you think you'll use 1000 rounds then buy a box of Remington PMC to see how they work in your rifle and if it works well buy some from Canada Ammo, its the best deal going. It'll cover plinking ammo for quite some time and there is always Prvi for shooting coyotes, if you can't use FMJ's on them in NS that is... I'm really not sure about the rules.

It's illegal to hunt with FMJ in Nova Scotia, so I'd like to find something soft point (thanks canam). Walmart carries 22-250 in the white box so maybe they'll get some more in.

I'm trying to talk Santa into a reloading set up for Christmas.:D

Not NS,..but Better Buy sports in Moncton has some AE .223,..and some other stuff I did not catch the name of,..a 64gr .223 but it was much more expensive.

The Walmart in the Bedford Commons is the location I check for .223 most often. They've had white box 22-250 for 8 months and no restock of .223 since I bought the last of it.

Support a local business, buy some from the Army Navy store ;)
