.223 load with H335

I just used the 69grn load data when I loaded some of the Hornady 68's. A better powder choice for the heavier bullet would be Varget though.

The Hornady 68s are a slightly longer bullet and have a narrower ogive design when compared to the 69 SMKs. You may find (as I have) that it will take slightly less (.5 up to a full grain) charge to get the same results when comparing the two.

I would agree with others in recommending a slower powder (varget is the sh!t:)) over H335.

I have found H335 can produce much wider velocity spreads.

I have tryed many powders in .223 the powders that worked good in Deuce a few years back liked RL7,H322,Win 748,H335,H4198
I have tryed all these powders as well Benchmark they work quite well with the 53gr Sierra Match
To get sub 1/2" groups with 69 gr Sierra's 75gr Hornady HPBT or Bergers 75gr VLD the best results where with, Varget,VT 540 & RL 15
There are 5 of us that shoot every Sun Morning 3 Savages Model 12 and 2 Rem 700 all 26" barrels 1/7 to 1/9 twists. There is a lot of talk on sight how well 75 Amax,s shoot 2 of guys bought 600 count boxes and are now trying to sell them, they just don't work that well for us, all shooting Sierra's or Bergers if we can find them.
