I use Benchmark or H4895 in a custom built .223 and 1/4" 5 shot groups are to be expected. Just for the heck of it I tried some H322 with 50 grain bullets that I had left over from my .222 reloading days and wow, 24.8 grains H322 and 50 Hornady gave me 5/16 and 3/16 on the first two targets.

First try with cfe223 in a 223 and its working good with 69 gr hpbt's

but may be getting some increase in barrel fowling, using reg BR4 primers
May go to the higher velocity node to see if it burns cleaner with more pressure
anyone else notice this?

I have found in general that all double based (ball powders) burn dirty and leave considerable more fouling than single based powders. In my experience ball powders are also much more heat sensitive. I stay with short cut single base powders.

I picked up a 8lb jug of CFE 223 and it is the most polarizing powder ever it seems.

Some folks love it and others despise it.

I have only made a handful of rounds with it so far but my plan for it was 55 grain Campro cheap plinking loads (loaded light for 3 guns up close cardboard target type work).

Does it play well with heavier projectiles (75gr / 77gr) too?

I have 8208 for heavier projectiles and it works great and I still have 10lbs of D8208 that I will move to next (into my leg keg of 8208). I also picked up some Accurate 2230 as my local Crappy Tire was blowing it out for a good price but havent really played with it much yet.
