Rifle:
Savage Axis XP (stock)
1:9 barrel
Load:
62 gr. Hornady FMJ-BT w/ Cannelure
25.4 gr. Varget
CCI 450
Remington brass from UMC ammo (FL sized)
C.O.A.L. 2.250
SD: 13 FPS
ES: 38 FPS
MV=3105 (measured by labradar)
1.25 MOA or better
will do 1 MOA 10 shot groups but accuracy is nothing spectacular in this rifle. All in all a great shooting round for plinking although not great SD/ES numbers but the price is very good at less than $15 for 100 projectiles at some places.
notes:
max load for varget w/ standard primers and SS109 62 FMJ projectiles is 26.0 gr. compressed in some load manuals. I used magnum small rifle primers.
