Hey all, just taking a break from working in some steel fire pits. I am thinking of getting a new 223. I was kind of wanting a good solid single shot WITH iron sights. Or a nice bolt gun with iron sights aswell. Thanks.

Check out the CZ 527 models. The American version won't have iron sights, but their Lux models do. They are beautiful little bolt guns.

I have a Thompson Center Encore .223 (also a .30-06 barrel). It is very accurate and very handy. With its 24" barrel it is the same overall length as a .30-30 20" carbine.

Budget? The H&R Handi with 24" bull barrel, dropped into a Boyd's Sterling stock is a nice inexpensive way to get shooting.

Link to seller on this please?... Been looking all over...

Brad... you can order these from ANY vendor that deals with H&R/Marlin... order model (Old number SB2-323 - New number 72552)... order the Boyd's Sterling butt stock for it and then order the heavy barrel forend from Numrich (Boyd's is not doing a production run of the forends until the fall);

I'm using a savage 112 single shot heavy barrel with target sights right now and having a lot of fun. I'm going to try long range target shooting with it this year. Its very accurate
