223 Training Ammo

Just saw this on Midways site from the States. Thought it was pretty cool and was wondering if anyone knows of something similar for sale in Canada?

Doesn't our military have excess ammo that gets bought up by dealers? They're must be ammo lots in some gov auctions I would think?

I believe the CF surplus ammo is sold to USA or stockpiled somewhere.

It sits in the ammo depots until it gets used up or is destroyed as unsafe to use.

There is actually a Trade in th CF (or was) called Ammunition Technician, aka Ammo Tech, that store, issues, and does periodic tests on the ammo in storage, as well as destroys the stuff that proves to be beyond safe use, or has production defects.

The CF has never really had a bunch to surplus out, most of the IVI stuff that went out in years past was handouts to various organizations and other forces, like Police or such. Hell, at times the CF didn't have enough to actually use it to train with.

Checked the site and can't figure out what this ammo does that makes it special (other than colour of brass).
