I have issues with the mini14

don't get me wrong, it shoots straight and hits were I am aiming, fairly consistent for velocity (except the odd winger).

However:

the brass is out of spec.

I thought it was the mini, I was stove piping like mad. 1 out of every mag at least sometimes 2. It wasn't till I got home and started processing the brass for reloading i came to a very different conclusion. Turns out lots of the norc brass has a out of spec rim. lots were very tight into the shell holder, and some would not even fit in the shell holder. when I started measuring it with the calipers, i found some was a few though bigger, and some were oval rims.
The brass was jamming on the bolt face and stove piping.
