I recently bought a bunch of ammo for my Remington 597, but like an idiot I accidently grabbed the 22CB instead of LR. Will this even shoot out of the 597? Not sure CT will take ammo refunds.

If it is the .22CB long it should feed through most mags but definitely will not function any semi-autos. You will have to work the gun like a bolt action. If you bought .22CB short they can be fired singly but probably WILL BE HARD TO GET THEM INTO THE CHAMBER.

I found CB's not only do not cycle the action, they considerably inaccurate in semi-auto's, they give horrible vertical spread. I never tried those in bolt action because I was thoughroughly disgusted with CB's by then. I say try them whats the problem, one should try about everything...

I use the .22CB shorts in my 597 all the time, I love them!

Canadian Tire does not carry the CB Longs, (not that I have seen) so I have been using the shorts for a long time now. No, they do not cycle the action, and they do not get picked up from the mag too well. I find if I load 6 or 8 in the mag, I can manually cycle the action, and it normally chambers a round. Of course, most shots stove-pipe, but since you have to cycle the action manually, it's no big deal.

The accuracy is not the greatest, but they sure are quiet. I used to use them for plinking in my yard (lived in the country, it was legal, just did not want to tick off the neighbours). A lot more powerful than my air-rifle, and as quiet!
