22HP (Savage) Case Forming with Parent Brass

I have read different things on the net regarding being able to make a 22HP casing by using the Parent 30-30 case and necking down and reshaping. We all know that these writings sometimes untrue as they are never truly verified. I have also heard it may be possible with a 25-35 brass, but I am unsure if either are the actual parent case to the 22HP? Has anyone ever attempted such and if so, how did you make out? Can you simply trim the parent case and set your 22HP FL Die to reshape? Thanks for the idea of posting this here Doug.

You'll need at least 1 intermediate form die and then maybe the final form/trim die. I think they're stock items at Redding and RCBS (for the 30-30 anyway).

just try it, use lots of lube the 25-35 will go easier because of the smaller neck

22 savage hi power canbe made from 25-35 lubing the case and just using the 22 hipower sizing die. What i do is turn the case while resizing. Then fire form with mild loads.
