I am interested in purchasing a fun accurate 22LR rifle. I have been looking at and like the T/C R-55 All weather 22LR. It claims to be pinpoint accurate. I also like it because it is a semi-auto which equals fun.

But I have heard many good things about the CZ 452. By the way I am left handed. And yes CZ now comes in a left-handed version.

What is the real difference in accuracy between these two rifles? (all things being equal)

CZ 452 bolt.

Hi,
I have no experience with the T/C semi but have owned a 452 Deluxe .22LR for over 20 years and am extremely happy with it. It is extremely accurate and I have had no problems at all with it's functioning. I have no hesitation in recommending it as an outstanding rifle for the price. :dancingbanana:

Because I have one already. And it does not shoot very well. I have enjoyed shooting the Ruger 10/22 but I am not impressed with it's accuracy. I am willing to pay more (500$ and 650$) for a more accurate semi-auto 22 rifle.

I have a 452 American and had a T/C Benchmark which has the same action as the R55 but with a heavy barrel.
The 452 American shoots fairly consistent 1/2" groups @ 50M (Power Point)
The T/C shot fairly consistent .65" groups @ 50M (Federal GameShock)

The CZ trigger can be made "acceptable" by a gunsmith for about $50.00
The CZ trigger has a lot of creep and cannot be "adjusted" by many smiths, so if you want a decent trigger.... you are looking at finding one that will work on the T/C and two way shipping costs.

Mine is fine

I just bought a 452 American. It has a great trigger. Maybe I got lucky, but I also owned a 452 Lux a long time ago and it too had a great trigger

Big

The Erik Brooks kit is very easy to install and works miracles on the CZ 452 trigger.

I agree with both points. Furthermore, you get enough parts to modify 3 (or 4?) rifles! Under $20 in hand by mail directly to your mailing address in about a week! It doesn't get much better. Eric even returns e-mail.

i have a cz452 lux and a anchutz 1416 22 and i would say the CZ shoots as good maybe not better fit and finnish but its like a tikka to a sako both shoot well one just looks nicer, so yes cz over TC

Well!

Since I just posted on the 10-22, why not do it again...
10-22 ,GM barrel on it with the Hogue overmolded stock, got a Vq trigger kit installed.
A Leupold M8 12x is sitting on top.

This is the result with CCI Standard Velocity, 10rnds/50yds
The bottom one was shot first and used has an aiming point.

CZs will do this right out of the box with no mods.
