going to be sighting in my camo 10/22 this weekend, and i was looking for some help. This is just gonna be a grouse and gopher gun, so i was thinking of a close sight in. What range should i zero this thing?

i was thinking of sighting the scope to a 50 yards zero, but since the range i might end up going to, doesnt have any thing less than 50 yards, i wont be able to see the impact point at say, 20 or 30 yards.

what is the average tragectorey on these 22lr. 50 yards to far for a zero?

thx

With a std High vel 22lr round (approx 1250fps, 40 grain) and 1.5" distance from sights to bore center.

A 50 yard zero will also give you a 15 yard zero and about .5" maximum displacement of trajectory from zero, at some place about 25 yards... So essentially its "on target" for most shooting between 15 and 50 yards.

Again from memory. This is pretty close to Levi's.

50 yards is where I zero my 22lr rifles for.

This is what a CCI stinger should be doing.

Someone on this forum tipped me off about this site....

You can plug in anything you like and get the output at any interval. I figured the optimum zero range to be about 35 yards but you can find your own depending on scope height and velocity. The ballistic coefficient for the typical .22 LR is in the order of .2 I think but it doesn't matter till out past 50 yards. There may be other sites but this one answered all my questions. I use it for my centre fire set up too. Good Luck Y
