If a barrel performs better with a flat-nose bullet rather than a round nose one, it is the luck of the draw, a better lot of flat nose ammo than round nose. There's no guarantee that the next lot of flat nose will perform similarly.
When it comes to accuracy performance, the shape of the bullet nose -- round or flat -- is less important than other ammo characteristics. In fact the bullet nose itself never makes any contact with the bore and so can only makee a difference, if there could be one, in flight. More significantly with regard to performance, the bullet nose has nothing to do with the ammo's extreme spread or its ignition, both of which are crucial for accuracy. Also very important are bullet seating and crimping, bullet heel uniformity, priming and propellant consitency. These are also unrelated to bullet nose shape
In general, there seems to be no statistical evidence to support the idea that either the flat nose Eley Tenex or other top tier match round nose is superior in accuracy. Currently, the majority of serious BR shooters are using round nose Lapua because better shooting Lapua is more readily available than Eley EPS ammo.
