I am having an issue withthe first round on my conversion kit. For some reason the first round on a magazine will not cycle. After I manually cycle the rest of the shots cycle. I was using the federal bulk pack and cci blazers. I only have one mag so I was unable to rule the magazine out. Anyone else have this issue?

Have you tried loading the mag with one less round? Do you load the gun by simply pushing down on the slide release or are you riding the slide at all?

Mine did that a lot when I first got it, it smoothed out after it was broken in. My advice is to buy a couple boxes of CCI mini mags and maybe a box of stingers and run that through it to break it in. I have about 11k rounds through mine and it has been pretty much flawless after the first thousand rounds or so. One other thing to look into if you havent already is your factory main spring weight. Most factory mainsprings are around 23lbs or so, changing that out to a 19lb spring will allow your conversion to run a lot smoother and still maintain your reliability with .45

thanks guys. I have tried with up to two less rounds and still had the issue. I was thinking about changing the main spring. Any negatives going with 19lb spring?

first round goes off but will not eject or push the slide back. The rest or the rounds will. I did try loading with 9 rounds and had the same issue.

I have the same Kimber 22 kit and it works great off my Kimber raptor II but then I bought a Ruger SR1911 to house the kit as a dedicated 22 cal 1911 but it doesnt work in that gun. The problem with the Ruger, is the tension on the disconnector is too high and it puts alot pressure on the 22 slide as it cycling back. I'm too scared to take a 1911 fully apart to fix the issue but I might have to after finals are done.

Strange. I've had some ammo not fully cycle the slide but I've never had one that wouldn't move it at all.
Very strange that it goes from not moving at all to working fine with the same ammo. Was it cold when you were shooting? I've noticed in the winter the gun can be a bit sluggish but once going if you keep up the rate of fire it will function and then while reloading get a bit sticky. This is with Federal bulk that is less reliable then mini mags in my conversion.
Try some Mini mags as suggested.
