So I found out today that my LGS has actually not had their bargain brand (American Eagle) in lead round nose for a while, and I've been buying bricks of 400 copper plated hollow point, rather than the 500 LRN I used to buy. So I did some math on how much they cost (I know it's not much, but it's still worth buying cheaper if I can).

400 CPHP is $22, and 500 LRN used to cost $20 just last year. Now, I don't know if $20/500 is unrealistic this year, but I do know I can do better than $22/400 if I go for LRN of another brand. My question is, what is the general opinion of AE CPHP versus say, CCI blazer in LRN, or Winchester M-22 (which go for 23.50/500 and 22.99/500 respectively)?

Bottom line, I really liked the 500 LRN packs, and I was buying these boxes blindly thinking they were still the old stuff, so I'm a little bummed I've been paying so much for these.

So what would you do? Are the CPHP worth a couple bucks more?

I picked up 5000 AE 40gHp and the same in 38g for just over $200 including tax from wss. This was last year. If I had a known the price would go up, I would have bought more.
Lesson learned, stockpile!

No kidding. I bought 2000 last year, and I've got 1500 left unopened. I'm not really sure what happened to the rest come to think of it, I only used like 200-300...must be laying around somewhere.

Anyway that's exactly what happened to me. Last year I was only sort of interested in having a couple guns, maybe shooting once or twice a year. Now I'm quite sure I could go through a brick in a day. I'll be buying a brick every paycheque now.
