Op....are you thinking about the Henry Small Game Carbine?
17" Octagon barrel, Skinner peeps and large loop lever. Nice.

Maybe 10 years ago, I had a little Savage single shot with octagon barrel - was like a falling block, so had a lever - was in 22 Magnum though - I think the same rifle in 22 Long Rifle had a round barrel - might have been the Savage 30M (?) - was sort of a resurrection of the old time Savage Favourite??

May I suggest henry small game carbine 22lr.
still octagon barrel, but shorter and well balance.
I seen thoes too.
Would need to handle one. As the octagon carbine is still over 1lb heavier then the round bbl.

The 24”bbl is like to handle. As my cz452 Lux has a long bbl and is my favorite off hand gun.

I have a golden boy rifle that is also octagon. Really forend heavy, besides the buckhorn rear sight sucks. I could not stand and handhold this thing to shoot a 3” steel plate from 50 yards.
I just gave up, put it on a bench rest and place an AR style low magnification scope on top of it.
Now it shoots like a dream. 1 inch group guaranteed at 50 yards

I also found the Henry Golden Boy to be nose heavy. It also fit different with a chin weld vs cheek on the other models.
