this is a question for anyone out there who likes to tinker/fab. i have been working on a functional straight stick mag for my thompson 10/22, and the problem is, there's a reason why butler creek and whoever else makes their hi-cap mags curved.
with a .22 rimfire, the rear gains as more rounds are loaded, meaning a straight mag only works for capacities up to 10ish (i know there are probably exceptions). anything beyond that starts to get finicky, binding in the mag and putting spring pressure rearward on the casing, resulting in poor feed angles.
any of you have any ideas on how to build reliable higher capacity mags that maintain a straight design, yet can hold more than 10-15?
