.22lr ranking

I have a Ruger 10/22 ss targetshoots an average of 1.5" at 100m. I am happy with my choice. My sister-in-law has the Browning t-bolt. Her's shoots about the same but the t-bolt is a fine quality rifle; nice lines, beautiful wood, good balance, but the cost is a bit more (to start anyway). I chose the 10/22 for the sheer fun of an accurate semi auto. The plus side to a 10/22 is you can find replacement and aftermarket parts for everything. It is not hard to spend $1000.00 on tricking out a 10/22. The only "fault" I found with her t-bolt is the cost of an extra mag...about $60.00 (and they are only 8 shot mags). If you like bolt action get the t-bolt if not, a 10/22 will keep you happy. I cannot comment on Ruger 77 rimfire (I have an older m77 in 30-06 that I am happy with. Cannot comment on CZ but I have heard they are a nice rifle as well.

I cannot place them in any order because they all have pro's and con's which I feel balance each other.

X2 for me Whammy. I own a CZ and have had a 1022 for several years as well as a Marlin 39a and the venerable (venereal?) Cooey 64. I didnt realize how poorly my 1022 shot till I bought a Marlin. Dont like bench shooting levers it turns out. Sold them both and bought a CZ452. Never thought I would love a 22lr but this is a finely built 22 and it comes leftie too. There are things to do to it but it is accurate out of the box. My 1022 would have been that accurate had I spent much more money on it. Reliable and fun yes. The aluminum receiver weirded me out too. The CZ is all steel and very nicely put together. If you want to tinker (money pit?) get a 1022. Semis will never give you the accuracy a bolt will. Lever maybe but semi no IMHO and I been doing this for nearly 50years. Im sticking with the CZ. Ask any CZ owner or check out the CZ chats in this forum. Awful lotta fans:)

Did you feel that the 39a was not as accurate as the CZ?

22 choices

C B seems that you have made some good choices in your selection of possible candidates. Just thought I would tell you that Savage and Marlin also make nice 22 cal rifles for alot less dough than a Ruger 77 and CZ in 452 or 453.
I have a Savage Mark II and its killed as many gophers as any of my CZ have.FS

No but right away it became apparent that it was much more accurate than the semi. Never had both to play with at the same time and never bought a bolt cuz there werent many lefties around. In this case the local shop had one already on order and I got it a week later. I think the CZ would outshoot the lever though. It is just too nicely put together not to. The old expression
" Form, Fit, and Finish-if all three are present then it has to be good!" came to mind as soon as I handled the CZ. That and that everyone in the shop owned one (7). Some shoot matches with them. Good enough for me. Sure is a delight to shoot I must say and I am fussy. The 1022 is a delight if you are a modder. There is a whack of stuff available for it but I just got tired of spending money on it. I saw a 1022 that had $2000 cost of mods. You could buy an extremely nice 22lr for that kind of dough. Not my bag. I want something well designed right from the getgo. Just ask any gun nut and they will all tell you a CZ is a fine accurate rifle even if they dont own one. Word gets around. Pricing is in the sweet spot too.
