.22LR stuck in .9mm casing...

Every once in a while, in bulk brass, a .22 gets caught up in a 9mm case and enters the progressive press. Usually, things lock up and I stop to sort it out.

This time, I must have been slightly distracted. I wonder, for how long has the piece of brass been stuck on the pin? This was only discovered when I did a once-over in preparation for shipping to a new owner.

Lee must be doing something right - the pin punched right through and everything kept working fine.

The case was deeper in the die, you can see toolmarks where I pulled it partly out.

Please tell me those aren't gouges in die from the 3 o'clock to 7 o'clock positions...

Nope, those are brass shavings and general debris.

LOL! I don't see any real problem unless the mouth of the 22LR case opened up where the pin widens and started to put dings and dents on the mouth of the 9mm. What does the mouth of the 22LR look like?

It was a nice slip-fit over the rod part of the decapper - almost like it was made for the purpose!

You can't lie to me, you where trying to load sub-muntion rounds to up your IDPA scores!

The only thing that will up my scores is a shotgun with a spreader choke....
