.22LR Tracer Rounds

I know cabala's carried them, but I don't know the theur Canada stores would. The thing about tracers is that they are legal, but NRCAN (or whatever) see's no sporting use for them, and ordered all the 7.62x39 surplus tracers pulled of the shelves. I would imagine the same went for all tracers.

You might find some on the EE if you post a Wanted ad, and gunshows might be a good spot as well.

I had 22 tracer rounds years ago (in the 70s) made by RWS.They worked very well and would illuminate to about 150yds.Lots of fun to shoot, but Ive never seen them again since then.

Where did you hear this from?

.22 Tracers were made in Canada by Gevelot in the late 50's and early 60's. When the plant closed in Saskatoon, the Army and Navy in Edmonton bought all the ammo that was in stock, along with several thousand bricks of .22 tracer. Sold them off for $5.00 a brick.

One of the smaller Alberta based dealers advertised them for years, I think it was either Bashaw Sports or Guns 'n Things in Blackie. They don't advertise them anymore, buth they might know something about their status or even have a few left in the dusty back somewhere.

.22 Tracer

I remember back in the 70's, I think it was Ellwood Epps had a 1/2 gal jar half full on the counter..never seen em since

$5 a brick! Wow. Especially for tracers. Too cool. First brick of Regular old 22 I ever had had a $9.95 sticker from co-op on it haha

There's a fun looking video on the you tubes from 22 plinkster, where they were shooting full auto ar-22s at clay birds with tracers. Looked like so much fun.

There was a manufacturer on here a few years ago. There was some conversation about producing. 22 tracer. I think that although it wasn't illegal per se they eventually couldn't get the proper approvals

Last time I seen any was at the Hyram Maxim Machine Gun Shoot in Dover-Foxcroft Maine in 2000. ( or '01?)
The vendor had plenty packaged in plain shoebox type cardboard boxes of 50. I think they wanted $5 USD .
I never bought any, figured they wasn't allowed thru customs. I should have asked, but didn't want the red flag.
