22nd annual BC Blacktail hunt

went for a drive this morning to my ground blind. Walked in, got within sight of it and there is a 2x3 mulie standing literally where i sit LOL
I almost got him but didn't like the shot.
I saw a white tail buck in there the other day so was hoping to bump into him again but no whitetails today.
Decided to drive the couple kilometers down the road to my other ground blind and bumped a herd of 6 does that trotted down the road in front of me showing no real fear but staying 30 yards ahead of me as I slowly made my way down the rough single track road downhill. In my peripheral I caught some movement and looked over to see two bucks moving fast towards the does. The bucks moved up to high ground on a knoll above the road and i got out of the truck with my rifle. punched him a little low but still got the job done. Found him piled up about 30 yards in from where i shot him and a solid blood trail led me there.
Getting him out was easy, all downhill to the truck and used the atv ramps to slide him right in. I was relieved that it was a super easy recovery as I was by myself.
anyways, that finishes off my deer season and now i can concentrate on moose and helping tracy fill her tags
It has been an amazing deer season for our group, I'm grateful for it!!

Nice work and thanks for sharing.

I just had a friend come over to this island to visit and he had tags so I got him to shot his first and second buck within 45 seconds of eachother. I thought he shot the wrong deer but he actually shot he bigger one I couldn't see, then reloaded and shot the one I was looking at.

I do wish I could get off this island more than I already do but I'm always pushing it on my hunting, fishing, road, gold panning adventures with the kids to the main land lol, it would have been nice to go hunting last year with you
