22WMR Auto loaders

I think Ruger made the 10-22 available in the magnum, but i cant seem to find any new. Did this gun have problems? What are the options for semi-auto 22 mag's? I think it would be fun to have one and im trying to figure out what would be the best way to go. Thanks very much

The options are" Marlin 922 (out of production but there's one for sale I think on CGN) and, of course, the Remmy 597 in either synthetic or heavy barrel laminate stock. That is still in production and apparently quite sturdy and accurate.

thanks for the info.. im a little embarassed i missed the remmy, that sounds like the way to go. I still wonder if there was any problems with the 10-22 win mag.

I heard Ruger had some problems with their weak action. Marlin action is basically bullet-proof. I would buy a Marlin anytime, specially one made before they started restructuring the company.

I love my Remmington 597 in .22WMR. It's got a fantastic center fire rifle sound that no .22LR can come close to with their wee little farts.

There both built on the 1022 mag platform , I have a 1022 mag that has been converted to hmr , it's my gun of choice , ruger dropped the mag over the hmr issues . It was to simple to switch and they wanted to avoid a lawsuit , it's the same reason the factory trigger on a 1022 is so nasty . Too many lawyers . Freedom ventures can bring in the magnum research , and I forget the name of the shop in bonneyville that will order u a volquartsen if I remember I'll post it
