What's your favorite kind of 22WMR? My savage 93G isn't to picky, shoots most stuff well at 100, but it doesn't like switch types. The POI is usually different, sometimes 3-4" @ 100, it also can take a few mags for the groups to tighten back up. I like to CCI 30 grn TNT, fairly flat shooting, a bit wind prone. The Rem premier accutip shoot very well, sometimes sub moa, but now they're $30 a box, way to much. CCI maxi mag hps are good but hard to find, the Rem hps are good, but at $20 a box they are a bit pricey. I bought my mag for reaching critters farther than my 22lr, and for fun longish range plinking.

So, what do you guys like?
What works the best on varmints!
What's avaliable in you gun store?
What are you paying currently?

I'm down to about 500, I'd love to grab a brick but having a hard time finding it at a reasonable price

Right now, you just have to shoot what you can get - there's almost nothing around.

Remington 597 Magnum with Techsight 200 peep sights. It's my bush dog gun and EDC for woods walking. And there no ammo around here so my 750 rounds is precious.

When I had my Savage 93FV, it shot Hornady 30gr. V-Max best. Fortunately (at the time) it was relatively easy to find and did a dandy job on groundhogs out to 125 yards. The gun is long gone, still have 6 boxes of that Hornady though. lol Might get another 22WMR one day...

Just picked up a Henry Frontier and I love it! Super smooth action and so far shoots very well with everything I tried so far...Hornady and CCI TNT"s. Right now there is nothing in the stores in the KW Ontario area, but I have scooped some up at the gun shows.

My 93 likes the CCI 40gr JHP best. It doesnt get much trigger time anymore due to the total lack of WMR ammo being available around here therefore the ammo I do have, ~400 rounds or so, needs to last....

Hornady Vmax in my Z5 is good....didn't like Winchester 40gr sp or fmj. CCI TNT were OK....not great, but passable. Haven't seen the Hornady around here for a year now....

I've never even seen the hornady stuff at a store. I hear the Rem accutip is made by hornady for Rem. what's the going price for the v-max? When I first got some accutips they were $23 a box, now up to $30! Lots of 17HMR around. There is a couple gas stations off the beaten path about an hour from my house that usually have a few boxes, might have to take the family for a drive soon
