hello everyone here.

i am moving to toronto to start a new life,

i am looking for new friends and shooting/hunting buddies along with someone to help me with issuses like acquiring my PAL and purchasing my desired firearms.

thought i woudl start here

Well - welcome to Cgn, and soon, Canada! Don't know if Toronto is quite the place you'll want to live - no decent untravelled mountains between there and alberta. I'd suggest coming out west;).

Just messing with ya' - Toronto has some good people, I'm sure someone will help you out.

Get to Toronto ASAP. I think you'll love Canada.

I Also agree with Ljungman 100%. Get an AR-15 and handgun.

If you find time, come out west. We are very gun friendly out here.

Lets hope the Liberals don't get back in at the next election otherwise he'll be wondering why he left old blighty. His Glock and AR will go the same way as they did in the UK. In fact depending on the timing of the next election he may never get to own them anyway.

You're moving to the wrong province for shooting sports. The Premier of Bantario along with David Miller, the mayor of Toronto, want to ban handguns. You should move to western Canada out of liberal la la land to somewhere like Alberta or BC at the earliest opportunity.

Do not give up your British passport!!! With all the schit bags that get Canadian ones you would be wise to only travel on your British one.

By leaving the UK for Canada you merely stepped back in time a dozen years. We in Canada are unfortunately hell bent on the same path to destruction as regards firearms rights & ownership as British gun owners were in the 90's.

This will give you the opportunity NOT to make the same choices and to convince other Canadians not to make the same choices (to do and say nothing) that led to destruction of the firearms community in Britain & Australia a decade or so ago.

The Brits & Ausi's were defeated by a VOCAL minority of ANTIs........the same process that is underway in Canada NOW !!

We have got to start outshouting Wendy Cukier & the Coalition For Gun Control & her Liberal political allies in the mainstream media (radio, TV, newspapers, magazines, internet) NOW before it is too late.

Why Toronto? It’s the only place I have work allowing me a visa, once settled I will apply for permanent residence and move to Vancouver. If anyone in Vancouver or Calgary has work for a licensed experienced security guard I would happily change my plans. lol. I have been to Toronto before and to be honest did not like it, it reminded me to much of home. Just the people are nicer, lol.

Everyone saying I should get an ar15 and a pistol, ever thought that might be the reason why im moving to Canada. lol.

I love shooting with all my heart and my country took it away from me.

Be advised that TO is an expensive place to live. Housing wise. On the other hand, that's where the jobs are. It's not as expensive as Alberta though.

Welcome Miloporter. I've noticed a small but not inconsequential number of newcomers to our country and shooting community who hail from the UK and South Africa. When I think of how the UK has degenerated in the last few decades with its suffocating Political Correctness and intrusive Big Government Statism, it makes me want to weep. What happened to traditional British values of industry, stoicism, and sobriety?
Moving to Toronto is not even a pale substitute for what you probably crave/need. However, it does afford you ONE more opportunity to fight for your rights as a FREE CITIZEN. A chance at REDEMPTION if you will. Don't allow the ANTIs here roll over us without a fight. If you exercise your rights as a responsible, law-abiding, firearms-owner and (hopefully sooner than later) as a VOTER then YOU, YOUR FAMILY, OUR COUNTRY and OUR COMMUNTITY will only be stronger. My brother-in-law is an ex-Brit and as painful as it is for him to admit, the UK is no longer a viable place to live.
 
Don't discourage him from Toronto. We ned people like him there where the antis run deep. He can tell tales first hand of the disintegration of Britain since they banned guns. Welcome aboard and good luck to you.
