23X Spotting Scope w/tripod - $29 at P.A.

Just a heads-up for those who may be looking for an el-cheapo scope to throw in the back of your vehicle or whatever. Princess Auto's latest flyer (June 10th) has, on page 3, "23X SportScope With Tripod" for $28.88. Info says:
- 23 x 60 mm magnification
- 2.5" angle
- multi-coated lens
- includes 13-3/16" tripod
- Wt. 3.3 lbs.

Didn't buy one as I'd just bought a $50 Bushmaster el-cheapo from CT, but these may be of use to someone for a project, an extra, or whatever. The one I looked at seemed to have OK optics looking around inside the store. Nothing rattled when I shook it, and nothing fell off when I turned it over.

Avoid this

Sorry I love Princess Auto but this is just not worth any money.

Image was so fuzzy that I just couldn't use it to spot gophers. I had hoped that I could use it at the range to observe my groups at 200 yards for load testing but I doubt it will work.

Prolly just give to the kids to look at the moon.
