Hey guys 🤙 I’m looking to order a Heavy Barrel for my 270 Win.
I reload with some slow burning Powder.
I was no sure about my barrel length (24or26)
What do you guys think about it

Depends on what you intend on using the rifle for.
For a hunting rifle 24 or 26 would be too long for my preferences.

Since you said Heavy Barrel, I'm inclined to think this is a target gun...I would go 26 to 28.

If you are building an F Class style of gun (i.e. strictly for prone shooting), then would want to be around 30 to 32.

Look at your load data for the bullet/powder combo you plan on using, to get an idea of where your velocities may end up. Then decide if an additional 40-120 FPS is beneficial for your required ranges and targets, and worth the extra weight and bulkiness.

Hunting rifle? probably not worth it if you'll be packing it at all, unless your shooting reallllly far.
Bench gun? mite as well go 28"

What action/stock are you building this beast on?

With a heavy barrel that will not really be used for hunting I would choose 26 inches over 24... you probably won't get a lot more velocity with a barrel longer than 26".

Sight system? Aperture sights would benefit with longer distance between front and rear sights... 28-30". I was down this road years ago with a 30-06: over 28" barrel. Light powder charges were producing very respectable velocities with slow powders like IMR 7828 and 4831. When you get enough weight and nicely fitting stock, you won't even want a muzzle brake: everyone wins.
