After some rather extensive searching I haven't been able to find anything for .270 Winchester using 2400 powder. Allow me to say that "yes, I am familiar with the 4895 and 4198 reduced load data"; in particular the (%60) 4895 formula from Hodgdon.
I do know that 2400 was (is?) used at one time, but unable to find any factory data. So any help would be appreciated thanks.

Primarily because of the 'teachings' of Elmer Keith, I have used a lot of Hercules 2400 in top end loads in the likes of the 357 Magnum, 44 Magnum and the 45 LC. Don't recall ever seeing 2400 being used in anything like the 270 Winchester. The only reference I could find of it being listed in 270 Win rifle loads is in my old well used copy of The Lyman Handbook of Cast Bullets. There is one load listed for use with a 115gr cast bullet.

Im assuming using cast bullets? Its an awesome powder for mid size cases and cast bullets. Im not sure for load but id bet they are out there. Ill take a look tomorrow and post what i find. Ive used it in 303 cases many times.

From what i read id start at about 15gr and work up to 19gr. Dont worry about fps but instead, group size.

Should be about 1500-1900fps

In the 1996 Alliant reloading guide there's nothing for 270Win but there is for 30-06
30gr of 2400 110gr bullet
30.9 for 125gr

then you can use the "Loading Rules For Non-Standard Cartridges" to derive your load

edit: it's the other way 30.9gr for 110 and 30gr for 125
