any one shooting this in a 1-10 twist. ( I dot not give a sh$t what the calculators have to say lol ) I'm shooting a 105 federal factory load but want to go with the 95g VLD Burger. I have heard there is a load out there thats working in the 1-10 if you have one can you let me know what it is thanks .it is a custom barrel thanks for any help

My experience with these borderline situations is that it is a mater of velocity.

High velocity means high RPM which means more stability.

So, you need to work up and hope you can reach enough velocity to be stable. You probably can. But this will depend on your rifle.

I would try 42 gr of 4350

42 gr N550

46 gr SuperPerformance.

Never had any luck with boat tail bullets over 85 grains in my 1:10 243...

Doesn’t mean it won’t work in your case and most likely Ganderite is right about velocity...

I stick to 85 Sierra hpbt and am happy with it so far.

Let us know what you get as result!

Depends on your effective range as well...you might be able to push them fast enough for 700m but they tumble at 800, trial and error is your only solution.

the 95 classic hunter looks like it could work at long range do you have some loading data you would share

These are near max so careful!!

Fed brass 42 gr imr 4350 from a Model 70 Varmint
Lapua brass 43 gr imr 4350 from a model 700 Vls

95 gr Berger CH seated at the lands.

Good shooting!

A good point and a good reason to use only 'extreme' powders that are temperature stable.
Temperature makes a big difference in bullet stability, not just powder.
If you don’t have enough twist the bullet might fly ok and group ok but you won’t be getting full BC value. Sometimes you are just better off shooting a bullet that has full stability the speed may makeup the difference.

Been using the Burger 95gr VLD for over 25 years in a Douglas 24", 1:10 custom .243 Win...44gr Winchester 760 gives 3100fps and groups around half inch @ zero celsius.
