or Green...I'm colorblind, so color really is unimportant.

so really, I like the .243 cartridge, so I thought I would write a spam post and ask if there are any non-restricted (hell, I guess I'd buy a restricted too...) black/green rifles in the .243 caliber?

thanks for humoring my question. :)

hmmm. I thought the AR10 platform was non-restricted...or is that only the AR-10B?

The AR180b is non-restricted. It is based on an entirely different rifle and chambered in 5.56/.223. The AR10's we see now aren't really AR10's like the original one designed by Stoner. Instead they are really just scaled up AR15's with .308Win length actions, hence they are AR-15 variants and are restricted.

The closest I can think of non-restricted would be the XCR-M in .260 Rem. I suppose you could get a smith to re-barrel one to .243 but tweaking the gas system for the new cartridge might be a hassle?

Probably not a big deal.
I had Ian at Herron Arms make me a short barrel in 6.5Grendel for my XCR-L and it works like a charm.
The only issue is $, as you require a 'donor' barrel for the receiver extension and gas system + new barrel + labour.
