My buddy has an A Bolt, I have the X Bolt....both .243.
We are trying to find the best accuracy factory load for coyotes.
We tried Fed blue box 80 grain, Rem Accutips in 75 grain and Rem PSP in 80 grain.
Not much difference among the 3 usually 1.5 inch......once in a while closer to 1 inch(100 yds).
Am thinking we should try the Fed Premiums either the 70 grain ballistic tip or the 85 grain.
I am hoping that someone here has either of these rifles and has found a factory coyote load that they are happy with and would be kind enough to steer us in the proper direction.

Your rifles and ammunition are performing as expected. There is no use in wasting money on so called premium ammunition. I.5 inch groups at 100 yards from a good rest is plenty of accuracy for field shooting of coyotes.
If you miss a coyote, the chances are about 2% that the rifle/ammunition was to blame and 98% chance it was the shooter's fault.

H4831 is correct. In addition, nothing but trial and error will find the most accurate load for your rifle. Every one is an individual, so what shoots in mine, or anyone else's, is almost irrelevant. You have to do your own testing, with your gun, the way you aim it.

Thank you for the responses. H4831 is no doubt pretty close to the truth.
I will probably try a few more different factory loadings just to see if I luck on to something better.

Pete, better accuracy will only be realized through handloading. There's more bullets for the handloader to choose from, and its easy to load for the .243 if you're so inclined. But Bruce nailed it. Inch and a half groups suggests that your bullet will impact within three quarters of an inch of your aiming point at 100, and if you work at it, within 3.5" at a quarter mile. Out to a quarter mile, that's a dead coyote.

Winchester Supreme 95gr Ballistic Silvertips or in the 55gr version. I used both and reload mostly the 95gr for my predator rifle. In a pinch I would use the 95gr BST's factory.

For deer the Elite XP3's in 95gr. getrs my vote.
