.243 First Range Gun

older thread response - I would suggest another caliber due to the inherent design of the .243 (angle of the neck) lots of force/pressure causes the barrel to wear out quickly as a 2-4 shots scope sight in and the 1 or 2 shots hunting - it would be okay because the barrel doesn't heat up as it would with a 5 or 10 shot string at the range.

Yep I agree. I like the caliber. 6mm is nice but 243 ain’t the one to pick for a plinking and range rifle unless your pretty well off in the money dept
 
As a gun nut I finally realized two things.
1st - if you want to shrink your groups your bank accounts shrinks proportionately
2nd - the only thing I am going to out live is my savings
