Just looking at some components I've got laying around, can anybody help me out with a load for this combination. I know the powder is a little slow for this light of a bullet, but, it'll be coming out of a 26" pipe. Not interested in setting any velocity records. What have you tried?

I don't shoot a 243, but a good friend of mine (benchrest shooter) does shoot them a fair bit and he uses H414 & WW760.

That's where I'd start with that cartridge.

I have a 700 rem with a 20" barrel that I shoot 58 gr v-max out of with 46gr of h4350 it shoots quite well.the H4350 is a bit slow for the 20" barrel and creats alot of muzzle blast compared to faster powders.you shouldn't have that problem with the 26" barrel.in the Lyman book they show it to be potentially the most accurate load for the 58gr at 45grs powder.so it certanlly can't hurt to give it a try with the 55gr bullets and the longer barrel.

I've been loading .243's for years. I've used 414, 760, 4350, 4831,
450, 4064 and all gave good results. 414 was my go to until one day along came a powder named Varget. Varget is now the first go to powder in my .243's. By far the best results with all weights and some of the smallest groups I've ever shot with anything. 55's will want about 43gr but start lighter. My pet chuck load is a 58Vmax with 43gr,
