.243 hornady superformance 95 gr sst and 80 gr gmx

I have tried the SST in a .25-06 on deer, and after that I would not use an SST. They will drop them quick, but they do a lot of damage. I took a nice buck with the Hornady Custom 100g BTSP [cronoed at 2960 fps]2 years ago, and was impressed. The buck dropped to the shot at 100 yards, and the bullet mushroomed like it should.

I shot a small buck this year with Hornadys factory loaded SST's. Quick kill but nothing left of the bullet, did not exit, and only found small copper fragments scattered through the entrails, tenderloins, shoulder, ribs, etc... Might make a decent varmint bullet though!

SSTs worked great in my 2506. Does a lot of meat damage but held together well. My rifle doesn't group them so well but I had fun playing with them. They expand fast and end up as lil mushrooms. If they shot better in my gun I'd use them for deer. Never tried gmx bullets
